Frequently Asked Questions....and Answers

1.Why does shipping cost so much?

Shipping prices are quoted directly from the shipping carrier so the quoted costs are what UPS charges us to send our packages with the utmost care. Please note that we have made great advances in reducing the costs of shipping and continue to look for ways to reduce costs.

2.What happens if I provide an incorrect shipping address?

If that happens, UPS must correct your shipping destination. We pass a $15.00 fee onto you, to cover our costs if this was your error and was not identified before your item was shipped. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses given by the consumer, as we have no way of knowing that the address is incorrect. We do however, give the consumer numerous places in the ordering process to re-check their order destination to help prevent this from occurring.

3. What is the shelf life of your products? And/or I just brought/received a pie/muffin/cookie and don’t want to eat it right away. How should I store it?

4. Which products do not contain nuts?

It should be noted that all of our food is prepared in a small, yet efficient kitchen. However, we have peanuts and various tree nuts on the premises where it is possible that a contamination of the nuts could result in all of our baked goodies.

5. Do you charge sales tax?

There is no sales tax on products shipping to states where we do not have a retail location. Sales tax applies to all items in the state of Michigan.

6. What are your shipping and return policies?

Shipping Policy: We ship UPS 2nd Day Air for all our pies and baked goods. We ship only within the United States. We will notify you within 24 hours of your purchase status. We do not ship items over the weekend under the two day shipping policy. 

If you place an order that can wait over a weekend, we will instead ship on the following Monday. We only ship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with the UPS 2nd day shipping option. If you place an order after Tuesday at Noon using the 2nd day shipping policy it will be shipped out the following Monday. However, you can choose next day delivery for Friday or Saturday. UPS charges an additional $15.00 fee for all Saturday deliveries. Our products are "made to order" and require a 48 hour turnaround time to bake, process and package before it is ready for shipment. If you want to guarantee your order is "made-to-order" then order before Tuesday at Noon. Otherwise any product that requires an overnight delivery after Tuesday Noon will come from products we have stored in our freezer. In this instance, what is available is limited as it is based on what we have in stock.

Return Policy: Most of the time, our pies arrive without a problem. However, pies are fragile, some more than others. We have spent many months working on shipping methods and pack each box by hand, taking care to ensure that our pies arrive intact. We will gladly accept returns on crushed items and send a replacement. If the box is crushed when you get it, do not accept the package.

7. Does your retail store carry the same products as the web site?

Unfortunately, it does not at this time. Because we are baking, storing, packing and shipping all out of our sweet, yet tiny kitchen; we do not have the space or storage to offer all of our yummy treats online. Some of our specialty items would not be able to survive the journey as well. However, we have chosen some of our most popular products to sell online, so much of the Sweetie-licious magic can be spread nation-wide! And if you are in the Michigan area, please make a point to stop at the shop to soak in all the unforgettable goodness that only the bakery café can convey!

8. If I order online or by telephone, can I pick up my order at the bakery café in DeWitt?

All online orders will be shipped to the address indicated. You cannot call the shop to place an online order.  If you would like to pick up your order, please call the shop at 517-669-9300 and place your order over the phone.

9. How can I redeem my gift card?

At this time, gift cards can only be redeemed at our retail store in DeWitt. We are working diligently so Sweetie-licious gift cards will be redeemable on our website as well. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

10. Do we gift wrap?

All of our muffins and cookies are separately packaged for freshness and then placed in our signature pink box and tied with ribbon. Our pies and aprons are tied with ribbon as well. It is a simple, yet lovely presentation.

11. Can I place an order now and have it delivered at a later date?

No, at this time we are unable to orchestrate delayed orders because of limited technical capabilities. As we want to ensure prompt and secure orders foremost for all of our customers at all times. We hope to offer that service at a later date for your convenience.

12. What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express Credit Cards at this time. Currently, we do NOT accept money orders, PayPal or other money payment sources. We do, however, plan on expanding to various methods of payment as we develop our services. We apologize if this inconveniences you as our intentions are sincere.

13. Can I include multiple products in the same gift box?

We will fit as many products as we can in a single box to deter shipping costs for you. However, please keep in mind that some products must be shipped separately  to ensure a safe and sound journey.
