It's no wonder barbeques are becoming to popular! They are recognized as the graceful, informal way to entertain.

  I just got back from a very filling and comforting meal at Bob Evans with my husband, daughters and elderly parents. We all sat around eating and smiling while stuffing dinner roll after dinner roll smothered in butter and honey in our mouths. Although the dinner wasn’t outstanding, it was good and it was comforting, exactly what Mr. Evans was aiming for, I suspect. Actually, the same exact scene takes place at my own dining room table three or four times a week as my family gathers to eat delicious, warm and comforting food....

Even though the official Grand Opening for the Market Hall is set for this coming Monday, September 2nd., we opened our new shoppe this morning at 9:00 am! Our new shop, inside the Grand Rapids Downtown Farmers Market is just about finished. The grand opening is set for Labor Day weekend. As we know more, we'll post it here (as well as on our Facebook page.)

We are now able to get fresh Michigan peaches, so we're starting to make yummy peachy treats, like our Peaches & Cream pie, Peach Melba Muffins, and fresh Peach, Blueberry Peach, and Raspberry Peach pies. Peach season is very short, so don't wait too long to call us (517) 669-9300 to order a special peach "Sweetie" treat for your family!

 

We are now able to get fresh locally-grown blueberries from Farmer Felzke,  whose farm is just down the road from the shop. We will therefore be making all sorts of blueberry treats this coming week, including our yummy Blueberries & Cream Pie!  Don't miss out on this special treat, call the shop(517) 669-9300, to order one for your family.

We can no longer get locally grown fresh Michigan strawberries. So we won't be making any more Strawberries and Cream pies, Strawberry Rhubarb pies, etc. till early next summer. We hope you were able to indulge in our strawberry treats this year and are already looking forward to next year!  

August brings the  the last leisurely days before we are back to the regular routines of life. Celebrate these days with family and friends!!  

We are closed on Independence Day, so that our staff can enjoy the holiday with friends and family. We will re-open on Friday, July 5th at 6:30 am. Happy 4th of July everyone!
