Cookbook Words of Wisdom...

"Man, as a rule, is an impatient creature, especially when returning home after a day of work and worry. If the meal is not quite ready, don’t make excuses, but commence immediately to set the table, leaving the impression that the meal is nearly ready…In the meantime, hand him a newspaper…his attention being diverted, the meal will be forgotten…this, of course, is a little deception, but it will work nine times out of ten, if shrewdly managed…a husband properly “cooked” is really delicious."
The Standard Domestic Science Cookbook  (1908)

Vintage cookbooks often contain sage pieces of advice and words of wisdom. Above is a humorous sample taken from Linda's treasured library of cookbooks.
