While Dad carves the turkey and spoons out the fragrant stuffing, Mother serves buttery mashes potatoes, passes giblet gravy, and cranberry sauce. Harvest vegetables, crisp fruit salad, and pumpkin pie are trimmings...

Pretty trimmings of the season – Remove cores from stem end of spiced apples, poke on ends of turkey drumsticks...or fluffy yellow chrysanthemums make the turkey drumsticks festive -snip some from your living room bouquet!

Herb Stuffing (modified by Sweetie-licious)

  • 3 quarts slightly dry bread cubed
  • 4 ½ tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt (or to taste)
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/3 C. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/3 C. onion chopped very fine
  • 1/3 C. butter
  • 1 C. chicken stock

Melt butter in small pan on medium heat. Add onion until cooked through. Add stock. Combine bread, seasonings, parsley. Toss lightly with butter onion stock mixture. Makes 8 cups, or enough stuffing to stuff a ten-pound turkey (or place in buttered, covered casserole dish and warm in oven.)
