We make our super-moist lemon fridgie cakes by combining our homemade lemon sponge cake and scratch lemon pie filling. We then spoon them into mini-Bundt cake pans and stick them in the fridge to chill overnight. The next day we drizzle them with our special citrus glaze, then top them with real whipped cream, a sprinkle of white chocolate shavings, and a lemon drop. A truly toothsome treat for lemon fans!

Tomorrow  (Sept. 15th.) we'll start making our delicious homemade soups (a sure sign that autumn is here...) We'll be including the soup-of-the-day in our daily menu posts on Facebook. Today (Sept. 6th.) is the last day we'll be making peach pies and muffins...until next summer. Don't despair though, we'll soon be getting tart and juicy Michigan apples and will start making apple pies, including Laura's Sticky Toffee Pudding Caramel Apple Pie (our Crisco 100th anniversary award winning pie!) Starting Tuesday, Sept. 6th  we are closing at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. We are still open at 6:30 a.m. Monday-Friday though (and 8-3 on Saturday). As always we're closed on Sunday.

Every year on Labor Day weekend we have lots of two-wheeled visitors from all over Michigan and around the country. This year is the 41st year that the DALMAC has been held. Bike riders travel from Lansing up to Mackinac Island and lots of them ride right through DeWitt and right by the shop. Each year lots of folks stop to get coffee, breakfast, and sweet treats "for the road".  For many folks we've become a must-stop along the way.
