Sweetie Staff Recipes

From the kitchen of Sweetie-licious...

There is nothing more comforting than an old, worn and stained recipe card. You can truly feel the baked love through the faded handwriting of mothers long ago.

Mango Raspberry Crisp

Not your ordinary fruit crisp. Super delicious!

  • 3 mangos-peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
  • 8 oz. raspberries
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour

Combine in an oven-proof baking dish.

Topping

  • ¾ C. flour
  • 1/3 C. sugar
  • 2/3 C. nuts (pecans and hazelnuts work well)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 Tbsp. cold butter

In separate bowl combine using a pastry blender. Sprinkle on top fruit mixture. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream for extra sweetness.

Sparkling Sweet Sangria

This light and summery take on sangria will make your guests smile.

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 shots Triple Sec liqueur
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 2 peaches, sliced
  • 1 bottle Chardonnay
  • 1 bottle of club soda

In a glass pitcher, chill fruit, sugar, liqueur, and wine for several hours. When ready to serve, pour into glasses and top off with club soda, be sure to add a couple pieces of fruit to each glass.

Ranch-House Hamburgers

Better plan on seconds when these burgers are on the grill!

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • ¼ C. finely chopped onion
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ tsp. Ranch salad dressing powder
  • Pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients, mix thoroughly.  Form into patties, Grill over coals till cooked till desired doneness.

Serve on an onion bun, top with crispy french-fried onions, sliced sharp Cheddar cheese, chopped or sliced red onions, pickle slices (either dill, sweet, bread-and-butter – or any combination of them you like) and top the whole thing with our amazing barbeque sauce (recipe for the barbeque sauce be posted on our website on 6/30!)
